BORACAY i

I really didn't want to do this post. It wasn't because of procrastination or mere laziness, but just a simple question of:how the hell do you start writing something you haven't fully digested yet?
I'm still wearing thin from the lack of sleep our group of six had in those 4 days. I'm still itching the mosquito bites I got in Boracay. I have sand in my shoes from White Beach. I haven't recovered yet.

Here it starts though - the trip to Boracay that was THIS close to not happening. Our gang of six, smart and ambitious as we are, didn't start planning on going away until a week before the Mid-Autumn festival - the days we were planning on setting off. We scurried around travel agencies like juiced rats in travel agencies in MK and Sha Tin picking up whatever travel deals looked good. Destinations like Phuket, Beijing, Tokyo, Shanghai, etc were on our list of potential travel spots (notice that Boracay wasn't even on our list).

Let me first rewind you to the day I moved into my dorms - August 23.
The group that would be our eventual six that went to Boracay were all sitting in a Taiwanese restaurant in Lok Fu. Exchange is an odd thing because one grows to have a truly deep and personal relationship with people one has barely known. I have just known the group for a mere 4 hours and one of our comrades piped up and said, "we should do some traveling together!" I responded, "ya, I've been looking at going to Boracay!"

BACK!

After perusing through our initial list of destinations, we realized that none of them could work out:
Phuket - terrorism (no really, read the Canadian travel advisory - it'll scare the sh00t out of you)
Beijing - the package of hotel and airfare was booked full andddd, the visas were an issue
Tokyo - too expensive, man!
Shanghai - visas are a pain, and impossible to get since we started planning so late
Macau - we could, but it'd be like spending a 19th or 21st birthday at McDonalds - bang but no flash.

we were about to give up on our trip until Boracay crept up and tapped us on the shoulder.
