Lately I've been doing a lot of research on how to get into the Hollywood agency business.
Aside from talking with media professors, directors, talent agents, producers, etc, I've also done some scoping around the web to see what more information I can get out of this elusive industry. I'm finding out more and more that the people who are established in the talent agency business are not too willing to divulge any tips on how one can put their foot into this industry. Maybe it's because these established players had to meander their way through and that by telling prospects like me the path, that their job will be jeopardized.
Whatever the case, take a look at Creative Artists Agency's website, CAA.com. The minimalist design might be a fashion conscious decision, but I highly doubt that. The fact they say and show nothing on their website reflects the secretive nature of this business. As CAA is the biggest and most prestigious talent agency in Hollywood (think of your favorite singer, athlete, etc., CAA probably represents him/her), I think it wouldn't hurt to divulge just a bit of information.
Some articles that I've found to be insightful are:

Do you know an agent?
Are you an aspiring actor that is represented by any one of these Vancouver talent agencies - King, Red, Lucas Talent, Collingwood, Principle, Trisko, etc.?
I'd love to talk to your agent.
